However, it came as a shock to everyone when it was also disclosed that the alleged mastermind behind Sabeen Mahmud’s case who was also involved in the Safoora Chowrangi attack, happened to be an IBA graduate by the name of Saad Aziz.
As the hashtag #SaadAziz started to trend on Twitter, an intense debate sparked between those who demanded strict action against IBA and those who were against the maligning of the institute. The main reason cited by those who called for strict action against IBA, was that had Saad Aziz been the product of a Madressa, wouldn’t the authorities take strict action against the religious seminary?
