Imran lectures PML-N for 'not building hospital where Kulsoom could be treated'

NAROWAL: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Thursday lectured Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership for ‘not constructing even one hospital in six tenures of ruling in Punjab where Kulsoom Nawaz could be treated’, ARY News reported.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s wife has been in critical condition for about a month after she suffered a heart attack and was put on life support machines in Harley Street Clinic in London.

Addressing a public gathering in Narowal, Imran said, “Except for some 10 years, the PML-N has continuously ruled over Punjab for six times. His (Nawaz’s) son should ask father why they could not build a hospital in Punjab where the Sharif family could be treated.”

He said whenever they were sought in a case the PML-N leaders, including Shehbaz Sharif, Nawaz, Ishaq Dar and Shehbaz’s son-in-law, would go abroad for treatment.

“Though, we pray for Kulsoom’s health, but Nawaz should be ashamed of the fact that he could not build a single hospital here so far,” he said.

On the flip side, he said, his father was treated in Shaukat Khanum Hospital (the hospital built by the PTI chief) and died in the same. “I myself have been treated twice in Shaukat Khanum Hospital.”

He said there was no hospital that could treat Ahsan Iqbal’s bullet injury, and helicopter was sent to lift him from here.

Imran blamed that Nawaz had taken Rs300 billion out of the country. While, he said, the state-of-the-art Shaukat Khanum was built for Rs4 billion.
