India not allowing UNMOGIP to monitor LoC situation: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal on Saturday said India was showing obstinacy and was not cooperating on the issue of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
Dr Muhammad Faisal said this while commenting on the letter written by Indian Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj in response to Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif’s letter.

The spokesperson said India was not allowing the United Nations Military Observer Group for India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) to monitor the situation along the LoC and Working Boundary.
He said in the letter written by Khawaja Asif, India was asked to stop ceasefire violations.
Faisal said the letter by Pakistan was aimed at preventing the loss of precious lives along the LoC.
He said the following year India violated ceasefire agreement for more than thirteen hundred times which was the highest in last fifteen years.
