Indian aggression cannot dampen our resolve: Ahsan Iqbal

SIALKOT: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal said on Saturday that India has shown cowardice by attacking the innocent civilians living in the areas along the Working Boundary.

Talking to media after inquiring about the health of those injured in Indian unprovoked firing at CMH Sialkot, he severely criticized India for resorting to frequent ceasefire violations along the Line of Control and Working Boundary.

He said Indian aggression was aimed at diverting the world attention from Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir and suppressing the freedom struggle there.

Accompanied by Law Minister Zahid Hamid, the interior minister visited the sector affected by the cross-border shelling of Indian forces.

Punjab Rangers director general Major Gen Azhar Naveed Hayat briefed the federal ministers on Indian shelling that took lives of at least six people and wounded 30 others.

Urging the international community to take notice of Indian mindless bellicosity, Iqbal said these cowardly acts, aimed at suppressing the Kashmir issue, could not dampen our resolve. Pakistan will continue its moral and diplomatic support for Kashmiris deprived of their right to self-determination, he added.

Ahsan Iqbal said India cannot shake the resolve of Pakistani nation by resorting to ceasefire violations.

Zahid Hamid said a proposal for construction of 50 bunkers along the Working Boundary and other precautionary measures would ensure safety of the people living in the border areas.

At least six people were killed and 30 others were injured along the Sialkot sectors when Indian forces resorted to shelling from across the Working Boundary.
