Indian soldier's daughter receives threats over video stating "Pakistan did not kill my father..War killed him"

NEW DELHI: Daughter of an Indian soldier killed in 1999 Kargil War against Pakistan is receiving death threats from nationalists after she released a video stating “Pakistan did not kill my father, War did”.

The Indian nationalists are targeting Gurmehar Kaur, daughter of slain Indian Army soldier Captain Mandeep Singh, after she posted a clip blaming the 1999 Kargil war for the death of her father.

Kaur stated “I have more memories of how it feels to not have a father. I also remember how much I used to hate Pakistan and Pakistanis because they killed my dad. I used to hate Muslims too because I thought all Muslims are Pakistanis.”

She also confessed that she tried to stab a burqa clad lady when she was six years old because for some reason she thought the woman was responsible for her father’s death.

Kaur said that it was her mother who made her understand that Pakistan did not kill her father, war did.

She stated, “It took me a while to know but today I do have learnt to let go of my hate. It was not easy but it is not difficult. If I can do it so can you.”

Kaur added, “Today I am a soldier too just like my dad. I fight for peace between India and Pakistan. Because if there was no war between us, my father would still be here.”

After the video was released, nationalist Indians also including cricketer Virender Sehwag started criticizing the daughter of their own Indian Army. She also repeatedly received threats but refused to bow down.
