ISLAMABAD: Convicted Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav’s meeting with his mother and wife has come to an end after 40 minutes of time at Pakistan Foreign Office in Islamabad.
Jadhav’s family members were accompanied by Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh during the meeting.
Earlier today, the family arrived at Benazir Bhutto International Airport (BBIA) in the federal capital from Dubai via Emirates flight EK612 to meet the Indian spy.
The family was taken to the Foreign Office building, located at the federal capital’s red zone area, amid stringent security measures. The wife and mother of Jadhav will return to India via Oman, sources privy to development informed.

No exchange of words with media by Jadhav’s family
The India spy’s wife and mother did not have a word with media at the venue and left the premises soon after the meeting.
Jadhav’s family to return to India via Oman
The Indian spy’s family would be immediately travelling back to India via Oman. They will board Oman Airline flight from Pakistan for Oman and then an India Airline flight to New Delhi, sources privy to development informed.
The Oman Air flight is scheduled to depart at 6.15 pm from Islamabad to Muscat, according to Islamabad airport authorities.

No consular access, clarifies FO
Pakistan Foreign Office, in a statement on Monday, clarified that Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav has not been given a consular access.
Clarifying media reports, FO spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said the presence of an Indian diplomat during the scheduled meeting between Jadhav and his family should not be deemed as a consular access.
India restains Jadhav’s family to have words with media
Pakistan has offered media coverage of the meeting and expressed its consent to issue passes to the journalists of both countries.
However, it has been learnt that Indian authorities have asked the Jadhav family to restrain from talking with media in the two countries before and after the meeting with Jadhav.
The Indian authorities have also barred its local media to accompany the family despite Pakistan’s offer to give visas to media.
Meeting on humanitarian grounds
Back in November, Pakistan offered India a meeting between Jadhav and his wife on humanitarian grounds but India, in its reply asked Pakistan to allow Jadhav’s mother to travel with his wife and a diplomat should accompany the two during the meeting.
Earlier this month, Pakistan’s foreign office spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal confirmed that the visa applications of Indian spy’s mother and wife were received for their scheduled visit on humanitarian grounds.
“Visa applications of mother and wife of Commander Jadhav received for their visit on humanitarian grounds. Being processed,” he tweeted.
‘On-duty RAW agent’
Pakistani security agencies on March 24, 2016, apprehended Kulbhushan Sundir Jadhav alias Hossein Mubarak Patel, an ‘on-duty RAW agent’, from Balochistan. The suspect was said to be an officer of the Indian navy working for the spy agency to destabilize Pakistan.
The operative had contacts with banned organizations and was working on plans to break Karachi and Balochistan away from Pakistan and to sabotage the billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
On March 25, a day after the arrest, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs claimed that the Indian man arrested from Balochistan has no connection with the government, however, admitted that Kulbhushan Jadhav was a former officer of the Indian navy.
On April 10, COAS, Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa confirmed his death sentence awarded by Field General Court Martial (FGCM).
