Inhuman treatment to Yaseen Malik unacceptable: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain here on Sunday said that inhuman treatment to Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik was unacceptable, ARY News reported.

In a tweet, Fawad Chaudhry said that India’s illegal occupation on Kashmir had become a symbol of hatred around the world.

He urged the Kashmir committee chairman and members to take the issue seriously and underscored the need to expose Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir effectively.

It is pertinent to mention here that his family on April 21 had said that Yasin Malik was seriously ill and had been shifted to a hospital in New Delhi for treatment.

Sources said that the Kashmiri leader was on a hunger strike against his shifting to Tihar jail on an illegal remand.

Earlier, Indian troops had launched a major crackdown in occupied Kashmir, and arrested Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik on February 23.

The Indian troops had raided Malik’s Maisuma residence in Srinagar and shifted him at Kothibagh police station.  Dozens of other leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami of the occupied territory were nabbed from their residences during nocturnal raids across held Kashmir.
