From his early years, Jacob Elordi has been a huge fan of Christopher Nolan’s film The Dark Knight.
The Australian performer acknowledges that the late Heath Ledger’s portrayal of the Joker inspired him to pursue an acting career.
Jacob described the strange moment he saw The Dark Knight for the first time in a recent interview with Joshua Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, particularly after making thousands of pleas to his father.
The Wuthering Heights actor said that after seeing the Joker pencil scene at the time, he “threw up.”
The actor remarked, “I remember driving to school and hearing people talk on the radio… ‘Don’t take your young ones because there’s a pencil scene.'”
Jacob requested that his father take him to the Batman movie after his mother turned down his requests.
The Kissing Booth star added, “My mom was away and my dad had taken me on a basketball trip… I was like, ‘Please, I know Mom said no, but please take me to see that. I’ve got to see this movie.'”
At eleven years old, Jacob Elordi revealed that he was ecstatic to see the film.
The Frankenstein actor said, “I can never forget when the pencil disappeared. I just about threw up out of excitement, like just pure excitement.”
Jacob revealed in other parts of the conversation that Heath’s performance as the Joker served as the main source of inspiration for his acting career.
The Saltburn cast member commented, “Every move he does with the grenade string as he backs out of the room. Everything… the humor, the depth, the voice, the movement, the costume.”
In the meantime, Jacob is scheduled to star in the upcoming Ridley Scott film, The Dog Stars, which opens in theaters on August 28.
