John Cena to feature in 'Fast and Furious 9'

John Cena is all set to join the star cast of Fast and Furious 9. He confirmed the news through Twitter.

The wrestler said that he was honoured to join the franchise which has entertained fans for nearly 20 years.

As of now, we do not know much about Cena’s character in the film. The screenplay is being written by Dan Casey from a story by Justin Lin. The latest installment of the ‘Fast and Furious’ franchise will go on floors later this month and will hit theaters on May 22, 2020.

In April, Vin Diesel also hinted that Cena will be a part of the film’s cast.

The wrestler had earlier expressed his wish to join the Fast and Furious franchise in an interview and to work alongside his fellow WWE wrestler Dwayne Johnson. “That stuff is beyond my control, but I would absolutely love that opportunity. That, for me, would be a dream. I’m never really like, ‘Oh, I’d like to work with this person,’ but I just think between our chemistry in the live performance setting, there’s something certainly there with The Rock. So that would be my one name on the wish list,” he said.

Cena made his acting debut in 2006 with a WWE franchise movie titled The Marine . He played the lead character, John Triton in the movie.
