RAWALPINDI: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, on the behalf of the president, conferred civil awards to the eminent scientists and engineers working in Pakistan’s strategic institutions, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
According to the military’s media wing, the awards were conferred to the scientist and engineer in a recognition of their outstanding performance during a ceremony held in Rawalpindi.
The Awards include five Sitara-i-Imtiaz, nine Pride of Performance and two Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

Earlier in the day, Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz had conferred military awards and medals to Army personnel during a ceremony at Malir Garrison.
In recognition of their acts of gallantry and velour during different operations and outstanding performance, Lieutenant General Humayun Aziz awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (military) and Tamgha-e-Basalat to different officers and soldiers.
Awards conferred on martyrs were received by their family members at the ceremony. A large number of senior military officers and relatives of the awardees attended the ceremony.
