Kamal says youth handed over cache of weapons to police on PSP's convincing

KARACHI: Chairman Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) Mustafa Kamal on Monday said former youth workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) laid arms and handed over huge cache of weapons to police on his party’s convincing, ARY News reported.

“Target killings have stopped in Karachi because of the PSP. We were accused of meeting with the foes of Muhajir community. It is due to our efforts that lock has been put to shuhada cemetery,” he said while addressing a news conference in Karachi.

He said a large number of local government representatives were joining the PSP.

The PSP chairman mocked at MQM-P leadership for raising the slogan of ‘Jag Muhajir Jag’ (wake up Muhajirs) after Chairman Bilwal Bhutto Zardari addressed a public gathering at Tanki Ground, which is considered to be stronghold of the MQM.

He asked why their honor was not hurt when the same ground was filled with filth and garbage and residents of the area were not getting water.

Mustafa said his party met Pakhtoons, Punjabis, Balochis and Sindhis to end hostilities between ethnicities.

“If it was not the PSP, some 3,000 persons would have been missing, hundreds others would have been arrested and mothers would have been looking for their children in the megapolis, however this all has been stopped due to the PSP’s efforts,” he said.
