Karachi: ATC grants physical remand of four alleged RAW agents

Four members of a political party identified as Abdul Jabbar alias Zafar Tension; Mohsin Khan, Muhammad Shafiq Khan alias Pappu and Khalid Ahmed were produced in the court under strict security.

Police has claimed to capture large quantity of arms from the possession of the accused adding that they have connection with criminal groups based in South Africa, India and Malaysia. Police said the suspects admitted to their involvement in terrorist activities in Karachi and that they received training from RAW in India from 1995 to 2002. They had links with Javed Langra in India.

They were also ordered for planning attacks in Karachi during the month of Muharram to create chaos in the city.

ATC judge granted physical remand of the accused to police till September 10.

Arms recovered from graveyard

Police and Rangers personnel recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition buried in a graveyard in Karachi.

According to ARY News, the law enforcement agencies on pointation of arrested accused Fariduddin recovered large number of arms and ammunition from an old cemetery in Khajji Ground in the jurisdiction of Rizvia police station. The arms buried in the graveyard included pistols, Klashnikovs, mortar shells and hundreds rounds of various weapons.

Fareeduddin was arrested from North Nazimabad during a raid of the law enforcement agencies. A court had granted 90 days physical remand of the accused to the Rangers.
