According to ISPR, the army chief paid rich tributes to the valor and sacrifice of martyred soldiers.
“Such terrorist acts aimed at undermining the progress of Operation Zarb-e-Azb can’t shake our resolve to root out terrorism from our soil, once and for all,” said Gen. Sharif.
The COAS instructed intelligence and security agencies to go to any length to apprehend the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, funeral prayers of the martyred soldiers were offered in Karachi on Tuesday evening.
Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial, Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Zakaullah, Corps Commander Karachi Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar, DG Rangers Maj. Gen. Bilal Akbar, IG and Additional IG Sindh and several others officers and personnel attended the prayers at Karachi Cantt.
Earlier in the afternoon, two soldiers of Military Police (MP) were shot dead in a gun attack at M.A. Jinnah Road – one of Karachi’s busiest thoroughfares.
The gunmen shot military officials in the head and managed to flee the scene. The deceased officers were identified as Lance Naik Rashid and constable Arshad.
The incident occurred near busy thoroughfare at Tibet Centre, when gunmen riding a bike and opened fire on military police van, initially leaving two personnel critically injured and later they died on way to hospital.
The bodies of the officers were moved to PNS Shifa for autopsy.

The law enforcement agencies also arrested a suspect from a nearby area and moved him to a police station for interrogation.
Sources informed that the investigators have obtained the CCTV footage but it doesn’t seem to be helpful.
Speaking to media on the crime scene, DIG South said 9mm bullet casings were found from the spot. He told that two masked men riding a motorbike opened fire on a military van from back and fled.
They [gunmen] attacked the officers in a cowardly manner, said the DIG.

The ‘operation’ against criminal elements in Karachi was initiated in September 2013 after the federal cabinet empowered Rangers to lead a targeted advance with the support of police against criminals already identified by federal military and civilian agencies for their alleged involvement in targeted killings, kidnappings for ransom, extortion and terrorism in Karachi.
Karachi is set to hold long-awaited local government elections on December 5 and surging attacks on security personnel and law enforcement officers look to be a big security challenge to maintain peace during the local polls.
PM condemns cowardly attack
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attack on military police officials in Karachi.
In a statement issued here, he said that we would not be deterred by such cowardly terrorist attacks on our brave Jawans. Peace and stability is the future of Karachi and there is national resolve to fight against terrorists.
CM Sindh telephones corps commander
Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah phoned up Karachi Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar after the gunmen attack on military officials in Karachi.
He assured Gen. Mukhtar that attackers would be taken to task.
