Kashmir is a reality that the world must face, says Pakistan

Pakistan has put forward the Kashmir issue at the member of the United Nations (UN) Security Council and world organisations advocating for human rights said Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria.
“Indian security personnel are killing innocent demonstrators in Kashmir, undermining their right to protest, which the world needs to notice,” said Zakaria.
The Indian government on Wednesday said that it would go on targeting freedom fighters in Kashmir despite widespread protests over the killing of a young Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, in her first public remarks following the street protests and violence over the killing of Wani, has asked parents to dissuade their children from taking to the streets.
She also said security personnel and policemen “will be made answerable” for incidents where excessive force was used.
At least 40 people have been killed – all shot by Indian security forces – and more than 1,500 people wounded in the worst violence in Kashmir since 2010.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has called on all parties in Indian-held Kashmir to exercise ‘maximum restraint’ and address the tense situation there through peaceful means.
Stephane Dujarric, a UN spokesperson told reporters on Monday that the UN chief has been noting the tense situation unfolding in Kashmir with concern.
