Kashmiris must be given their right to self-determination: Sadiq Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD: Acting President Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on Monday said that the people of Indian-held Kashmir must be given their right to self-determination as envisaged by the UN Security Council resolutions.

Talking to President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Sardar Masood Khan, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad, Sadiq Sanjrani urged the international community to play their due role in resolving the Kashmir issue.

According to a statement released from the ministry, both the leaders exchanged views on important matters including the development projects in AJK.

On the occasion, Sadiq Sanjrani commended the efforts of AJK president  towards the socio-economic development of the region.

Earlier in the day, Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari on Monday salaamed India for using sexual violence as weapon of war in occupied Kashmir and urged the international community to play their role for granting the Kashmiri people their UN-pledged right of self-determination.

Addressing a ceremony in the federal capital, Shireen Mazari said that Indian forces have broken all the records of brutality and atrocities in occupied Kashmir and invited the United Nations Commission on Human Rights to visit held-Kashmir.
