KARACHI: Mayor Murtaza Wahab has said that the renovation work of the damaged KMC roads will begin from Sunday.

Talking to media, Karachi’s Mayor said that the renovation work of the 106 KMC roads, which were damaged in the rainfall will begin from this Sunday.

He said the people have criticized over the work of Shahrah-e-Bhutto and Hub Canal. They reached to the place of the construction work of the third phase of Shahrah-e-Bhutto and made their videos.

“Political actors go out of the sight during a disaster. Those people are criticizing who were failed to show faith to their leader,” Wahab remarked.

Mayor said that a 20 meters’ portion of the under construction old Hub Canal has been affected. “This affected portion’s work will be completed by tonight,” mayor said.

It is pertinent to mention here that a portion of the under construction third phase of Shahrah-e-Bhutto was swept away by the furious Malir River waters after rainfall in the catchment area of the river in Kirthar mountain range.
