The differences between KPK political parties and the federal government on CPEC led to the KPK government to take decision of not providing land to the center for the eastern route of CPEC.
All Parties Conference (APC) organised by the KPK government decided that a joint resolution would be passed in favor of the western route of CPEC.
The APC meeting also decided that purchasing of the land for the eastern route would be banned, under section 4, due to delay in construction of the western route of the Corridor.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had on Jan 03 warned the centre that the KPK government would not allow the CPEC to pass through the province if the due share was not given to the province.
While, Awami National Party (ANP) had raised five points on Jan 04, in which they stated that Asfandyar Wali Khan had suggested the building of a connecting road from Bajaur to South Waziristan, which run throughout FATA. However, no report was issued which shed light on the above-mentioned matter or any other development projects for FATA.
Another point of concern for the Awami National Party (ANP) was that according to them, the government had not taken on-board the real representatives of Balochistan. The party had said that it was of the view that as the inhabitants of Balochistan, Balochis had the right to benefit from Gawadar Port since they were the real stakeholders of the deep sea port.
The party also said that issues pertaining to the CPEC should have been discussed in forums and platforms such as the Council of Common Interest (CCI) however that had not occurred. Lastly, they also stated that the government had not provided an adequate level of transparency with regards to the financial as well as energy and industrial provisions for the CPEC.
