Lahore: Elite Force takes control of Raiwind compound

According to CCPO Lahore, a terrorist was killed and another arrested injured in a rare targeted operation against militants in Pind Araiyan area at Raiwind road, which began in the early hours of Thursday. The dead terrorist has been identified as Mehboob, who was a resident of Okara.

Provincial Minister of Law Rana Mashhood has said that the prime minister’s Raiwind residence was the target of the terrorists.

A large quantity of weapons was also captured from the house around two kilometers’ distance from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Raiwind residence.

According to sources, the security officials continuously briefed the Prime Minister about the developing situation.

A member of the elite force also lost his life and three personnel injured in the fighting.

The raid at the safe house of militants was jointly conducted by Punjab police, elite force and other law enforcement agencies.

The house owner Sattar, who was taken into custody by the police informed that he had given the house on Rs. 5000 monthly rent to two persons.
