MUMBAI: Veteran and legendary Bollywood actor Kader Khan ruled the film industry in heydays from early 80s until start of 2000s with his versatility of roles he portrayed in the movies.

It is no secret that 80-year-old actor and comedian Kader Khan, who has acted in a plethora of Bollywood films in the ’80s and ’90s hasn’t been keeping well.

 

The actor had had an operation in 2015 that had impaired his mobility, reported IANS. He had stated that producers and directors were unwilling to talk to him after his hospitalisation and treatment in 2015.  But now it looks like Khan’s health has taken a turn for the worse.

Spotboye reports that Kader Khan has been on wheel-chair since a long time due to pain in his joints. However, his health condition deteriorated recently, after which he was rushed to Canada where his elder son resides.

According to Spotboye, Shakti Kapoor who has given many films with the ace actor has been trying to get through to him, but Kader seems to have changed his number. Shakti was quoted as saying, “Yes, Kader Khan is now on a wheelchair. It’s so so sad to be talking about this and I am trying to reach him since the past few days, but I am not able to get his number. I hope to have it in the next 2-3 days.”

Recently, when rumours regarding Khan’s death started going rounds, it forced his son to appear before the media and quash all misleading reports that had taken over the internet and subsequently TV.

His son Sarfraz said in an interview in March, “Yes, my dad is facing difficulty in walking. We have to provide him support from both sides. After a few steps, he demands that he wants to sit again. He is scared that he will fall.”

But there has been no surgery gone wrong, like it’s being reported, added Sarfraz. “The surgery did not go wrong. It was just that my father refused to get up after the surgery. We were told that he has to make an effort and try to start walking from the next day. He just didn’t do that. But I must say that he is otherwise absolutely okay. There is nothing to worry about. He is leading a very happy and luxurious life with me, my wife and our kids.”

Prayer appeal

His family, as they recently quashed rumours surrounding Kader Khan, appealed the fans to pray for the veteran actor as he was battling health issues for some time.

Kader Khan was known for his work as a writer for numerous films with noted directors like Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra, as well as dialogues and screenplay for Amitabh Bachchan’s films.
