DERA GHAZI KHAN: In what could be the horrific ‘punishment’ for a love marriage, two brothers cut off the nose of their brother-in-law on Sunday night as an act of revenge for marrying without the family’s consent.

According to police Superintendent Zafar Buzdar, Tanveer married the sister of Saeed Ahmed and Haji Ahmed without acquiring the bride’s family’s consent.

He was falsely given an invitation for a dawat where the two brothers beat him up and cut off his nose to seek revenge by marrying their sister without permission.

According to police, both the brothers have been arrested and Tanveer was sent to District Headquarters Hospital Rajanpur for treatment.

As of now Tanveer’s injuries are lasting but his condition is said to be stable.

Around two weeks ago outside the Lahore High Court, a couple was beaten up for free-will marriage.

The family of a girl who married a man of her choice gave a sound thrashing to the couple on Tuesday outside the Lahore High Court and also took the bride with them.

Humaira, a resident of Pattoki, contracted marriage with Imran Ali last month and the family of the girl had a kidnap case registered with local police against the groom.

The couple filed a petition before the high court requesting that the case be quashed for being fabricated.
