KARACHI: Large-Scale Manufacturing (LSM) grew by 3.56 per cent in the first four months (July-Oct) of the current fiscal year on a year-on-year basis, the data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) showed on Friday.
LSM shrank by 1.19pc in October when compared to the same month a year ago. However, the big industry production grew by 1.86pc in Oct on a month-on-month basis.

In July-Oct 2021, textile production increased by 0.91pc and food, beverages and tobacco by 5.15pc, the PBS data showed.
The LSM in pharmaceutical, chemical, automobile, iron and steel, and leather sectors grew by 6.55pc, 3.14pc, 11.62pc, 37.91pc, and 10.49pc, respectively.

Engineering products grew by 0.81pc, wood products by 6.56pc, petroleum products by 7.33, paper and board by 9.39, fertilisers by 7.23 and electronic products grew by 10.92.
