A Rangers spokesman said that the gangsters opened fire at the paramilitary forces during a raid in Malir area. Two key commanders Shiraz alias Comrade and Yousuf Pathan alongwith Akbar Maliri, Khalid Lashari and Gulaab Hassan alias Peeru were killed by the Rangers’ retaliatory fire.
It is said that the slain bandits were wanted for terrorism, murder, extortion and other offences. Large number of weapons were also recovered from the five gangsters.
On the other hand, four members of Sher Zaman wing of Taliban were gunned down by CID in an encounter at Manghopir area of Karachi.
According to details, Police carried out a raid at Manghopir’s Ghazi Town area after receiving information of presence of terrorists in the area.
An exchange of fire took place between the suspects and Police and four terrorists were killed in the clash.
It was said that weapons were also recovered from the slain suspects.
