KARACHI: A man was shot dead on Friday in fire exchange with police in Azizabad area of Karachi, ARY News reported.
ARY News Correspondent Salman Lodhi said the man was continuously firing in a house over property dispute.
On arrival of police at the site, the man opened fire on them and injured a Station House Officer of police.
The police called more personnel and Rangers to tackle the situation. Police had to fire teargas shells in the house to stop the firing. After police entered into the house, the assailant was killed in exchange of fire.
Police said the man had taken family of the house hostage and shot injured one of the family members. The injured has been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Heavy contingent of police and Rangers are present on the occasion while further probe is underway.
