Man strangulates three minor daughters, injures wife in Arifwala

ARIFWALA: A stone-hearted father killed his three underage daughters and injured his wife – in an attempt to kill – in a village of Arifwala district in the wee hours of Saturday.
Police arrested 40-year-old Ahmed Yar, a resident of 83-IB village, for killing his three minor daughters and severely injuring his wife, Shakeela, over a domestic dispute.
According to police, the man strangulated his three daughters and then reached to house of his in laws where he stabbed his wife with a sharp-edged weapon, leaving her critically injured.
The accused was apprehended by the neighbours while he was trying to flee from the spot after the brazen assault.
The slain girls were identified as 11-year-old Zainab, 7-year-old Zameera, and 5-year-old Maryam. The bodies were shifted to hospital for autopsy.
The police has registered a case against the accused.
