Marriyum expresses concern over spread of dengue virus in KP

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb on Saturday expressed concern over the increasing spread of dengue virus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The state minister regretted that that virus has affected a number of people, and declared that the federal government stood with the people of the province in this time of adversity.

She said that the expertise and experience displayed by the Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and his team in tackling the dengue virus has been appreciated the world over and was worth emulating.

The reported negligence of the KP government has prompted the CM Punjab to a team of experts and a mobile health unit and political leaders to KP.

Shahbaz Sharif has also called CM KP Pervez Khattak and offered assistance to to fight dengue, and extended full cooperation to eliminate the deadly disease. The Punjab government will also its strategy with the government of KP.

Marriyum Aurangzeb strongly criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan calling him an absconder from the courts who should come down from the mountains to see the condition of the people of KP.

She said that change did not occur with mere slogans but through work and service to the people. She said Imran could run away from the courts but he would not be able to escape from the court of the people in 2018 who would punish him for his misdeeds.

Earlier Advisor to Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam also criticised performance of KP government and its failure to handle dengue fever in Peshawar.

The advisor talking to newsmen said more than eight deaths have took place due to dengue fever in Peshawar during the last few days. He hailed the Punjab government’s offer to help KP in the elimination of dengue fever from Peshawar.

Amir Muqam also visited Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar and inquired about the health of dengue patients and announced two hundred thousand rupees each for the families of those who lost their lives due to dengue fever.
