LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif, on Tuesday made a scathing reply to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan.
Earlier on Tuesday, an anti-terrorism court granted bail to Imran Khan in four cases registered against him during 2014 sit-in including damages to public property.
Speaking to media after the verdict, Khan said this verdict proved he was not a terrorist. Exploiting anti-terrorism law for political gains would harm democracy, he said and alleged that the law was used to settle scores with opponents.
Later in a tweet, he said: “My name is Khan and I am not a terrorist. Moreover, the SC [Supreme Court] has pronounced me Sadiq and Ameen and I am coming after them crooks.”
The tweet was not well received by PML-N supporters and even some analysts but Maryam Nawaz was perhaps the quickest to reply to her political rival.
“My name is Khan and I am a STOOGE,” she wrote quoting Imran Khan’s tweet.
