Matriculate working as dental surgeon caught in Punjab’s Pattoki

PATTOKI: A raid conducted by ARY News ‘Zimmedar Kaun‘ team along with Punjab Health Department officials in the province’s Pattoki city came across a self-proclaimed “dentist” who only had a matriculation certificate as a proof of his qualification to operate as a dental surgeon, ARY News reported.

As the ARY News team led by host Ali Rizvi started raids on quacks operating within Pattoki, the first quack they came across was running a dental clinic with no qualification whatsoever to treat problems with patients’ teeth.

The media team sent a reporter with a swollen gum to the “dentist” and he started operating on the patient’s teeth after applying an ointment.

With the team arriving on his clinic, the “dentist” left the patient and upon inquiry, claimed that he was just “helping the guy with a swollen gum” and doesn’t call himself a doctor.

“Doctor Sahab comes in the evening from Chunian (tehsil of Punjab),” said the quack.

Upon further inquiry, the man not only confessed that he was operating as dentist and is not even a medical graduate let alone a dentist.

“I am only a matriculate,” said the quack about his qualification.

As the drug inspector interrogated the quack, it also emerged that he was using unregistered drugs and is not even able to read the names of drugs he is regularly administering to his shop-cum-clinic.

He also revealed that he is working as a “dentist” for about 40 to 45 years.
