ISLAMABAD: Managing Director (MD) Pakistan Television Arshad Khan on Wednesday presented a cheque amounting rupees eight million on behalf of the PTV employees to Prime Minister Imran Khan for dam fund, Radio Pakistan reported.
The MD PTV presented cheque to the PM after attending a meeting over reforms in Pakistan Television in the federal capital.
Speaking in the meeting, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed PTV to focus on highlighting country’s soft image, national heritage, and ideology of Pakistan.
The Premier was also briefed that PTV is facing outstanding amount of 5.8 billion rupees, while it has to pay 14 billion rupees to pensioners, and 1.2 billion rupees are further needed to upgrade its network.

To this, the PM asked the PTV administration to evolve a coordinated plan to overcome financial difficulties of the organization.
Last week, renowned American Singer Akon in a video message requested Pakistanis to donate generously to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dam fund.
Citing a United Nations (UN) report which states that Pakistan might face scarcity of water by 2025, the famous singer said, “In a special message from me to Pakistan, according to a report issued by the UN, water resources in Pakistan will dry out by 2025. I’m encouraging all of Pakistan and Pakistanis around the world to donate money to this Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dam so we can mobilise Pakistan into a better future.”
