Mehmood Qureshi appreciates Sidhu for showing great valour by visiting Pakistan

MULTAN: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Tuesday said politician of Indian Punjab and ex-cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu had shown great courage by visiting Pakistan, ARY News reported.
“One needs to have courage to change circumstances and Sidhu has shown great gallantry by visiting Pakistan,” he said while talking to media in Multan.
He appreciated Sidhu for his positive gesture for peace.
Qureshi lambasted Indian media and extremist minds who threatened and criticised Sidhu on his attending the oath-taking ceremony of Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad.
“There is one narrow-minded segment in the society that does not want resolution of issues. These people find negativity even in positive things,” he said.
Sidhu has said he got unforgettable love and respect during his visit to Pakistan.
“I am leaving Pakistan after laying foundation of a good initiative for peace, love, and harmony,” he said while talking to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Javed Khan in Islamabad before leaving for India.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi said a large number of masses in India believed that the country should review its national policy.
“The responsibility of resolving the Kashmir conflict lies on both the countries’ shoulders and there is no other way than to begin talks on this matter.
“The issue of water crisis is also rising in the entire subcontinent,” he said.
He said violation of border ceasefire was in nobody’s interest.
The foreign minister also sought help and prayers from the nation for the newly-elected government.
The minister said the ties between both Pakistan and the US had witnessed ups and downs; however, bridging the gulf between them was in favor of both the countries.
He said the ties between the US and Pakistan had a long history.
“The US considers Pakistan as a crucial partner in addressing the challenges of Afghanistan. Pakistan has borne heavy life and monetary losses,” he said adding that he would talk about Pakistan’s national interest before the US leadership.
He said Pakistan was not frightened of anything. He also said the Indian subcontinent should progress like Europe.
