Men wear hijab in support of women in Iran

Unfortunately, those who do not conform or wear them in a way that their hair becomes visible face fines and imprisonment.

Women in Iran have been protesting and campaign against the rule and often leave their homes with their hair uncovered while some resorted to shaving their hair.

In a recent move, Iranian men have joined their crusade to support their wives and female members of the family by posting their own photos wearing a hijab while the women display their hair.

The buzzing campaign has been named, ‘My Stealthy Freedom’ initiated by an Iranian campaigner and journalist Masih Alinejad, from New York, who urged men to share their pictures using the hashtag #meninhijabs.

Her campaign was launched last month and so far, she has received at least 30 pictures of men wearing a hijab.

“Most of these men are living inside Iran and they have witnessed how their female relatives have been suffering at the hands of the morality police and humiliation of enforced hijab,” said Alinejad.

One of the men, who participated in the campaign, shared his hijab-clad picture and wrote on his social media wall: “I am wearing hijab only for a few moments to understand how my wife feels about having to wear it on a daily basis.”
