KARACHI, August 11, 2026: The father of Mir Raza Ali, Mir Hussain Ali, has raised serious questions over the police investigation into his son’s death and alleged that evidence was mishandled and witnesses were intimidated.
Speaking exclusively to ARY News, Mir Hussain Ali said the first meeting with the new investigation team was held yesterday and all details were shared. He added that contact with the team will continue on a daily basis from now on. “The investigation of Mir Raza Ali’s case has to be done by the police,” he said.
He alleged that from day one they had been saying Mir Raza was killed but were not heard. He claimed his son was called with planning and tortured. “Severe torture was done on my child. These are professional people who did this,” he said. According to him, the medical report states that Mir Raza was made unconscious and tortured. He also said Mir Raza knew the people he was going to meet were “above even the police station.”
Mir Hussain Ali accused the police of sharing information through a private TV channel instead of with the family.
“This police team conducted the investigation through a private TV channel and kept sending us messages through it. The private channel also kept airing the details of the same police team without asking us. We were not contacted,” he said.
He alleged that the SHO Ferozabad, Samiullah, along with Zubair and Usman, kept walking around with the DVR and the smart watch and aired videos of their choice. “Why was the smart watch not sealed?” he asked.
He further claimed that the police forced them towards exhumation and aired audios and messages that had no link with the case. “Our audios are being aired which have no link with Mir Raza’s murder. The messages of my son were aired which were not even made part of the case,” he said.
The father also alleged pressure on witnesses. He said Mir Raza Ali’s friends and employees were being tortured to change the narrative and were threatened not to attend protests. He said he raised the issue with the Sindh Interior Minister and the AIG, who said he could not accept that police threatened the children.
Regarding evidence, Mir Hussain Ali said today the DNA report also proved that the sample matched with Mir Raza. He questioned why Kamran Qureshi of Gulistan-e-Jauhar was suspended instead of being included in the investigation, alleging that he tampered with evidence. He also said the police did not share anything with them for 11 days and did not inform them about any detentions.
He said for the first time in 12 days, Amir Farooqi’s team listened to them. “There are some black sheep within us but there are also some good police officers,” he added. “We trusted the police before and we still do. Now a new team has been formed.”
