Moon sighting body meets today to decide on Eid

Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai of Peshawar’s Qasim Ali Khan Mosque has already announced Eid today.

Local and non-governmental committees in Bannu, Mardan and Lakki Marwat have also announced the sighting of Eid moon in their areas.

Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Pakistan meeting today in Karachi with Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman in chair.

The zonal moon sighting committees would meet at their respective headquarters.

Eid ul Fitr being celebrated at Saudi Arabia and other Middle East countries, Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan’s tribal areas bordering Afghanistan today.

The Meteorology Department on Sunday informed the media that there are strong indications that the Shawal Moon will be sighted in Pakistan on Monday (today) and the rest of Pakistan may celebrate Eid ul Fitr on Tuesday.
