HYDERABAD: In a shocking development in the case pertaining to abduction and death of a seven-year-old, the police on Saturday arrested the mother of the deceased for faking the abduction and murdering the minor girl, ARY News reported.
The seven-year-old Armish Aftab’s dead body was found covered in a plastic bag outside her house in Latifabad area of Hyderabad city on Thursday night. The girl had left her house at around 6PM and had not returned. The CCTV footage of the area showed a veiled individual dumping her body near her home.
According to SSP Hyderabad Adeel Chandio, the investigation team monitored the CCTV footage and found another woman lurking around the deceased’s body which the family members identified as Armish’s mother.
The suspect has confessed her crime and appears to be suffering from serious psychological illness., SSP Adeel Chandio told ARY News.
Police on Friday had interviewed three female relatives of the deceased in connection with the case while the minor’s mother had also accused one of her aunts for the crime.
The deceased was the couple’s only child.
