NA, Senate resolutions demand harsh punishment for Kasur molesters

The horrifying Kasur incident echoed in Pakistan’s power corridors on Monday with parliamentarians condemning the ordeal of innocent children at the hands of wicked molesters.

The resolution passed by the National Assembly demanded immediate inquiry of the matter and arrest of culprits by the Punjab government. It also called for making legislation wherever necessary in order to protect the rights of children.

The Senate of Pakistan also passed a resolution denouncing the inhuman incident and called for handing harsh punishment to the perpetrators.

The chairman of Senate while seeking suggestions from the members stressed on the need to have a permanent institution to protect children rights.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly too unanimously passed a resolution and demanded the government to direct concerned authorities for handing stern punishment to the culprits.

Moreover, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) submitted a resolution in the Sindh Assembly demanding trial of Kasur culprits by military courts.

The resolution read that it would not be enough no matter up to what extent the barbaric incident is condemned.
