ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau Javed Iqbal has said, NAB is carrying out across the board accountability, ARY News reported on Friday.
Chairman NAB chaired a high level meeting at the Bureau’s headquarters to review overall progress of all the bureaus.
Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal maintained, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) is carrying out accountability process without any discrimination across the country.
He underlined the need to root out menace of corruption, which is core cause of wrongdoings in the country.
On November 22, Chairman NAB Javed Iqbal, had reiterated his resolve to make Pakistan a corruption free state and announced to bring the corrupts and proclaimed offenders to justice.
Chairing a meeting in Islamabad, he had said that NAB believed in elimination of irregularities and vowed to make the country a corruption free state.
The NAB had chairman directed all the bureaus to bring mega corruption cases to their logical end on emergency bases and asked to refer other routine cases to the concerned anti-corruption agencies.
The NAB chairman told the meeting that during the span of last one year, 44315 complaints had been registered, 227 inquiries launched, 440 references filed and Rs2580 million recovered from the plunderers.
According to the Gallup and Gilani survey 59 per cent people expressed their trust in NAB, he concluded.
