NAB summons ex-CM Usman Buzdar in corruption probe

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday summoned former Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in an inquiry pertaining to corruption, corrupt practices and assets beyond means.

According to the call-up notice, a copy of which is available with ARY News, the NAB Lahore has asked the former Punjab chief minister to appear before the combined investigation team on May 9 at 11:00am.

The Bureau has asked Buzdar to submit a 30-point questionnaire while appearing before the graft watchdog.

Usman Buzdar was accused of awarding contracts to favourites for the construction of a dam in Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan).

The accountability bureau has summoned the former chief minister before as well.

Earlier, the Lahore High Court (LHC)  refrained police from arresting the former chief minister of Punjab and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Usman Buzdar.

Usman Buzdar has already secured protective bail in corruption and other cases.
