LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on Wednesday said the organisation’s 1210 cases of 900 billion rupees were subjudice, ARY News reported.
“So far Rs303 billion have been recovered from corrupt people since my assuming the charge,” Javed Iqbal said while addressing a ceremony.
He said those dreaming of becoming rich should know that shrouds had no pockets. He said the anti-graft watchdog had made Double-Shah, Single-Shah.
The NAB chairman said the relevant organisations should take notice of attractive advertisements of the private housing society. “Some housing societies illegally sell billions of rupees.”
He said embezzlement was root cause of all evils and a hurdle in the way of development and prosperity.

Javed Iqbal said performance of the NAB was appreciated at different forums including the Transparency International.
“NAB performance since 2008 has been better than other organisations,” he said.
On April 16, Javed Iqbal had said that no government officer, under watchdog’s custody, would be handcuffed.
Addressing senior bureaucrats at Civil Secretariat in Lahore, Justice (rtd) Javed Iqbal had said that the government officers should fulfill their responsibilities without any fear and should consider appointments and transfers on the basis of merit and transparency.
He had said that civil bureaucracy was the backbone of the country and urged them to serve the country with sincerity.
