ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday said the nation was encountering rueful consequences of fighting the war of the United States, ARY News reported.
“I was being labelled as ‘Taliban Khan’, when I opposed sending armed forces to Waziristan and asked to distance ourselves from the US war. However, now the outcomes of not listening to my suggestion are before all of us,” he said while addressing a sit-in protest organised by Mehsud tribesmen demanding arrest of former SSP Malir Rao Anwar for alleged encounter killing of Naqeebullah Mehsud.
Rao Anwar has gone into hiding after registration of a murder case against him and his team for their involvement in what investigators described as a fake encounter.

Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) ordered all state institutions to extend support to Sindh police to trace down the absconding cop.
Imran Khan expressed remorse that the only fault of Naqeebullah was his belonging to Mehsud tribe. “God knows similarly how many more youth would have been killed.”
He said he always opposed the US war at every forum for which he was targeted, but now everybody recognised the same point as true.
“We should not have participated in the America’s war. We inflicted huge oppression on (people of) our country by participating in the America’s war. We distanced the tribal people from mainstream by launching operation in their areas. We should now redress their losses and bring them back to mainstream by merging FATA with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he said.
