National issues should not be resolved on streets: Iqbal

LAHORE: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has said that the national issues should be resolved inside the institutional limits, ARY News reported.

Talking to media in Lahore, Iqbal said that the political crisis of the country should be resolved with the institutional limits instead of the streets.

The minister said that the federal government will make 2018 general elections more transparent by working on the electoral reforms. “It is the responsibility of everyone to prepare for the upcoming polls,” he said.

Speaking on the Panamagate Case, Iqbal said that all parties involved in the matter should let Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) to decide the matter.

He said, “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed his confidence over the Supreme Court.”

Iqbal went on to say that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will bring a “revolution” in the energy, economy and education sectors of the country.

He said that the federal government has spent Rs. 215 billion on education within the past three years.

The planning and development minister said that the nation will reject Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) in the 2018 polls if they will not be satisfied with the party’s performance in the government. “We will accept the decision of the nation in the next elections,” Iqbal said.

The PML-N leader also said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) does not want anarchy in the country as it respects the public opinion.
