LAHORE: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was inflicting damage upon democracy in a bid to save stolen money, ARY News reported.
“The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) is lecturing us on ‘democracy is in danger’. They should know that 22 parties have blamed them for corruption and Panama Leaks are international phenomena,” he said while addressing a press conference at Chairman Secretariat in Lahore.
The PTI chief said we have only questioned about the money trail of the assets declared by them. “In response the Sharif family has been concocting stories for one and a half year.”
Levelling a range of allegations on PML-N, he said the ruling party has a history of corruption. He blamed the rulers of getting funds from the intelligence agency in 1990 elections.
Imran Khan said Nawaz himself was involved in derailing democracy, attacking the Supreme Court and even in trying to dismantle the government of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto after taking money from Osama Bin Laden.
“The PML-N tried to buy journalists and the joint investigation teams. They have bought big media house. Mir Shakil-ur-Rehman is trying to save Nawaz’s embezzlement,” he said.
