Nawaz is hurdle before Pakistan’s becoming Islamic welfare state: Imran

NOWSHERA: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Friday said he dreamt of Pakistan becoming an Islamic welfare state, however Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was the hurdle before his dream, ARY News reported.

“I have no personal enmity with Nawaz. If he was not a corrupt person, I would have a very good friendship with him,” he said while addressing a rally in Nowshera.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak, PTI leaders Jehangir Tareen and Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed also addressed on this occasion.

Imran said who dreamt big, he did big. He maintained that he dreamt of making Pakistan champion of the cricket world and he came out successful, then he wanted to build such a cancer hospital where people would not worry about money and he made it, he said, then he dreamt of Pakistan becoming an Islamic welfare state.

He said his struggle was for the Pakistan of national poet Allama Iqbal and founder of Pakistan Muhammad Ali Jinnah. However, he resented, the country could not make progress until politicians like Nawaz Sharif existed.

“Pakistan will become a developed country like China, once corruption is eradicated from it. I dream that there comes a day when nobody is left in Pakistan to receive Zakat,” he said.

Further projecting about his dream, he said he wanted the country to be glorified so that its passport was respected the world over.

He said beggars were not respected. Money was illegally being transferred abroad and the nation was forced to take debt, he said adding that Rs10 billion money laundering was daily being done in Pakistan.
