During a segment, Ishrat spoke about her journey from a radio show ‘Khel Aur Khiladi’ to being the face of 9 pm daily news on Pakistan Television.

Despite coming from a Punjabi family, Ishrat Fatima was known for her command over the Urdu language and she credited her mother for the same. “My mother was a school teacher, and she would always keep us busy in digests and books,” she said, which helped her be well-versed in the language.

The celebrity also mentioned that they were bound by her parents to converse in Urdu at home, which also aided in her fluency.

“I was in 9th grade when I started doing radio, however, my first news presentation was on TV,” she said.

Ishrat Fatima revealed she had gone for the audition for weather updates on PTV, but was told by the producer to audition for daily news instead. “I was approved the very next day, and they called me for the rehearsals of telly prompter,” she added.
