Alphonse Provinziano, a lawyer experienced in celebrity cases, believes fame was the reason for Nicole Kidman’s nearly two-decade marriage ending.
In an interview with Daily Mail, he elaborated on his perspective, stating, “What you observe with fame acting as a third partner, in my experience working in Beverly Hills with high-profile families, it subtly influences a relationship.”
He further added, “Celebrities are no different from anyone else. They fall in love; they hold the other person in high regard.”
The attorney observed, “Nicole herself even mentioned this about her initial relationship with Tom: that they existed in their own private world.”
He continued, “Subsequently, intense scrutiny arises, and an entire world outside begins to pull at and tug at these individuals.”
Considering the persistent media attention on Nicole and Keith Urban’s marriage, Alphonse stated, “We can see that Keith has been quoted, allegedly, expressing how challenging it was to witness Nicole in a scene in an upcoming release and how significantly her fame has surpassed his.”
The lawyer shared, “There have been suggestions that perhaps Keith had emotionally disengaged and Nicole desired to salvage the marriage, but he was being pulled in other directions.”
“These highly famous individuals experience a tremendous amount of attention and involvement from others in their lives.”
He explained, “It’s a very human dynamic that unfolds, but it’s how it [fame] operates as a third partner. It’s something that diverts attention away from the other person.”
Alphonse concluded that while the dynamics are “very human,” fame essentially steals attention from one partner, acting as a “third partner.” He also suggested that Nicole’s greater fame compared to Keith’s might have created a wedge and overshadowed him.
Keith and Nicole married in 2006, and 19 years later, she filed for divorce. They have two children.
