ISLAMABAD: An accountability court on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Hussain and Hassan Nawaz, the sons of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who have been declared absconders in the Avenfield reference case.

Hussain and Hassan were declared proclaimed offenders and the court ordered non-bailable perpetual arrest warrants against them.

The National Accountability Bureau has written a letter to Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Ministry of Interior to approach the Interpol to issue a red warrant seeking the arrest of the younger Sharif brothers.

Both Hussain and Hassan, who are currently in London, have been instructed to appear before the accountability court which seek to wind up references in the Avenfield reference case and other graft cases.

NAB has also decided to arrest former finance minister Ishaq Dar through the Interpol. Dar is facing several corruption cases including assets beyond known sources of income. Dar left for London in October last year on the pretext of seeking treatment and has not return ever since.
