According to Radio Pakistan, Rabbani made the statement while talking to a delegation of Rotary International representatives of “End Polio Now” Campaign led by International Polio Plus Committee Chairman Michael K. McGovern in Islamabad.
He said that additional 600,000 children in the country have been administered polio drops due to the fact that Operation Zarb-e-Azb helped the country extend its reach in eradicating the virus from the country.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader also stated federal and provincial governments will fully cooperate with Rotary International for eliminating the virus.
The acting president of the country stated that the crippling disease will soon be eradicated from the country.
On the other hand, McGovern stated that his organization, apart from helping Pakistan in eradicating polio, is playing its role in increasing literacy and providing clean drinking water to people of the South Asian country.
