Orlando Bloom is reportedly finding life on the singles scene difficult following his recent separation from Katy Perry. The 48-year-old actor, famed for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, and the 40-year-old singer-songwriter ended their high-profile, nine-year relationship in July 2025.
The couple, who got engaged in 2019 and welcomed daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in 2020, had been a fixture in the celebrity world. However, sources cited by Radar Online suggest Bloom’s post-breakup attempts at romance have been met with resistance.

Insiders claim the star’s perceived arrogance is hindering his ability to move on. “The only thing that was keeping Orlando relevant into middle age was the romance with Katy and the family they started together,” one source stated, suggesting Bloom is “overplaying his hand with this breakup.”
This struggle was reportedly highlighted during Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s summer wedding in Venice, Italy, where Bloom allegedly tried to flirt with actress Sydney Sweeney, only to be reportedly rebuffed.
With his romantic life in flux, Bloom is reportedly setting his sights on professional resurgence. He is actively seeking a role in the upcoming movie, The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, which is currently in pre-production.
The actor is allegedly hoping a return to Middle-earth will re-establish his status as a Hollywood heartthrob. “Orlando believes a part in this movie will bring him back to prominence and make him a heartthrob again,” the insider claimed.
The source attributes Orlando Bloom’s current difficulties to an alleged lack of perspective rooted in his overnight success with The Lord of the Rings films. Unlike many artists, he “never experienced that period of struggle… and that’s created character flaws,” the source explained.
According to the insider, Bloom “is still the entitled, spoiled guy he was in his late 20s,” a mindset that is poorly suited for a middle-aged actor “suddenly on the hunt for your next long-term romance,” especially as he approaches 50 and his acting career is said to have “clearly seen better days.”
