DUSHANBE: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday said that Pakistan will continue cooperating for peace in Afghanistan as it is imperative for regional stability and development.
The president met with Afghanistan’s Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan where is currently on an official visit.
He said high level bilateral contacts are necessary for stability in the region. He also invited Abdullah Abdullah to visit Pakistan, who accepted the invitation.
President meets with his Turkmen counterpart
Earlier, President Mamnoon Hussain held a meeting with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
They agreed to enhance bilateral relations and to expedite efforts for early completion of TAPI gas pipeline project and increase trade and investment.It was also agreed to hold trade exhibitions to promote trade and economic activities between the two countries.
President also met with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda and Speaker of the Lower House in Dushanb.
He emphasised on the need to enhance cooperation in investment, trade, oil, gas, agricultural research and food processing sectors between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
