Pakistan facing issues from Afghan refugees, says Nisar

“Afghan refugees have been mixed in Pakistani population, while some of them have acquired illegal Pakistani identity cards and passports as well,” he said while responding to Point of Order of members in National Assembly.

To a query of Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Shaikh Salahuddin about confiscation of licensed weapons from MQM headquarters by law enforcement agencies, he said report will be presented on this issue after discussing with the relevant organizations.

Nisar said he was unaware of confiscation of licensed weapons from MQM headquarters.

“I will take action against the interior ministry officers if they do not come despite issuing of notification,” he said.

He also said he would take all-out action regarding MQM’s missing persons. He said he had asked for judicial inquiry into MQM worker’s death under custody, but chief secretary Sindh did not want judicial inquiry into the matter.

On the other hand, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong called on the interior minister in Islamabad and discussed bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.

Nisar said that Pakistan was determined to complete the projects under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) within the timeframe.

He said providing foolproof security to Chinese engineers and workers is top priority of the Pakistan government, Radio Pakistan reported.

The minister said that bilateral relations between both the countries are guarantee of the sustainable peace in the region.

On the occasion, Chinese Ambassador expressed deep sorrow and grief on the recent Quetta blast.

He said that people and government of China are fully supporting Pakistan in its war against terrorism.

He said China is appreciating the efforts of Pakistan to promote peace in the region.
