Pakistan prods India into probing soldiers killing

Pakistan handed over the protest dossier to Indian HC, seeking probe into border firing and subsequent killing of two Rangers personnel.

In a letter written by PM’s adviser on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, he said firing along border by Indian forces was sheer violation of the ceasefire agreement. The Indian government has been asked to investigate the incident, bring the perpetrators to justice, and ensure maintenance of peace and tranquility along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.

On Wednesday, Indian Deputy High Commissioner was also summoned to the Foreign Affairs Ministry to condemn the action of Indian Border Security Force troops.

Pakistan termed the incident as violation of the commitment by both sides to maintain ceasefire along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary.
