Four children killed in Indian unprovoked firing across LoC

RAWALPINDI: Four children including a brother and sister were killed three others were injured on Saturday when Indian forces opened fire and shelling on civilian populations along the Line of Control.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations, Indian forces violated ceasefire agreements in three different sectors and opened unprovoked firing and and used mortar shells and artillery.

Three minors girls aged five, seven and eleven, and a 16-year-old boy named Shahzad was killed when Indian forces fired at their village Kori in Charhoi sector, district Kotli along the LoC.

The ISPR also stated that Indian troops also resort to unprovoked firing in Tander and Baroh areas of Bhimber sector on Saturday morning.

Pakistan Army gave a befitting reply which silenced the guns of the Indian forces. The repeated violations of ceasefires has created fear and uncertainty among the local civilian population.

The Foreign Office has summoned the Indian High Commissioner Gautam Bambawalla to register their protest against the Indian aggression and ceasefire violations.

Earlier this week, at least seven Pakistani soldiers were killed during Indian cross-border firing across the LoC in the disputed Kashmir region.

According to the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, Pakistani force also retaliated and killed eleven Indian soldiers, a death toll, he said, India must dare to admit openly.

While Indian Army continues to undertake serious ceasefire violations along the LoC and working boundary, Indian Navy deployed its submarine against Pakistan.

On Friday, a statement released from Pakistan Navy said that the country’s naval fleets units successfully intercepted an Indian submarine and prevented it from entering Pakistani waters.

An unsuspecting submarine was detected and localised South of Pakistani coast on November 14, 2016, the statement added.

Navy Fleet units recognised the danger in the shape of an Indian submarine floating secretly near the Pakistan waters possibly spying following which they limited its movement effectively.

A Navy spokesperson said in the press release that the fleets units chased the Indian submarine before it was sent back.

Relations between the two neighbouring countries worsened when militants, India claimed from Pakistan, attacked an Indian army base and killed 19 soldiers. Pakistan has always rejected the Indian allegation terming it as an illusion.
